Proposed NBMP Plant
NBMP have secured suitable land on Keelys Road, Cohuna and have gained Council support to build the proposed plant. Additional land for treatment ponds a short distance from the proposed plant site has also been secured. Two leading Technology Providers have submitted initial designs and budget costings for the milk processing and waste treatment facilities.
The processing plant is to have maximum daily milk processing capacity of 1.2 million litres, be capable of drying 6 tonnes per hour of full cream milk powder and process up to 300 million litres of milk per year.
The milk processing and waste treatment plants are being designed to use the most up to date and cost efficient technology available. NBMP believe that the conversion costs will be at least equal to the most modern plants and superior to older plants that dominate the industry in Australia.
